Chris Milk Hulburt

Chris Milk Hulburt is a self-taught artist and musician living and working in Richmond, Virginia. His vivid, expressive work explores the quiet magic of ordinary moments, drawing inspiration from local landscapes, flora, and fauna. Rooted in the traditions of folk and naïve art, his paintings are rich with symbolism, gentle humor, and a sense of poetic mystery.

Working primarily in paint on wood, Chris also creates large-scale public commissions, textiles, and sculpture. His work has been shown in galleries across New York, Providence, Virginia, and North Carolina, though much of it is made on commission and held in private collections.

In addition to his visual art, Chris is an active musician whose creative practice is deeply intertwined with sound and storytelling. He is currently collaborating with Blank Verse Records on a special limited-edition music release, coming Fall 2025.
